New Jersey Devils season is coming, but who’s next?
Posted October 03, 2019 09:25:24Fans of the New Jersey State Devils have waited a long time for their season to start.
They’ve been waiting since the Devils announced they were taking over the state of New Jersey’s largest city in 2021.
And now the season is officially underway.
In the past few weeks, the Devils have announced that the team is going to host the New York Islanders at Prudential Center on October 25th.
Fans of the team can expect to see a lineup of players who are familiar faces to fans of the sport, such as goaltender Henrik Lundqvist, captain Adam Henrique and the team’s new mascot, the new jersey.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 and MSG Plus, as well as via online streams, on the Devils’ official website and on MSG.com.
Fans can also catch the game on the New Orleans Pelicans home basketball game against the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday, October 19th.
While the new uniform, the team mascot and the new home arena will be exciting for fans of hockey, the New Zealand Ice Hockey Association (NZIHA) is also excited about the New Year.
“We’re very excited for the season,” said NZIHA President Michaela Bouchard.
“It’s a very exciting time for the sport.”
The New Jersey-based league will also be giving away a special jersey to one lucky fan, and the tournament will also feature a brand new, custom logo that is a nod to the ice.
New Jersey Devils player Adam Henrici, who plays for the New Hampshire Whale, was among those who tweeted his excitement for the new season.
Henricis jersey is pretty cool, but we can’t wait to see how it turns out in 2019.
He’s a great guy and a great hockey player.
We’re thrilled to be part of this incredible season and I hope everyone else is too.
New Jersey-born New York Devils forward Chris Kunitz posted a picture of his new jersey on Twitter on Tuesday, October 04th.
It features his signature on the front, and it’s clear that he was looking forward to getting the jersey this year.
“I can’t believe it!
I’m so excited!”
“It’s been over a year since we first announced our plans for the 2019-20 season,” Devils coach John Hynes told NJ Advance Media on Wednesday, October 07th.
“This is a great time for us to be back in New Jersey.
It’s going to be an amazing time.”
The Devils announced the new stadium is slated to open in 2021, and they will use the existing Devils Arena for their games.
But the team will also add a brand-new facility for the 2018-19 season, and that will be built on the site of the old arena.
The new arena will host all of the Devils home games, as it has for years.
“The New York State Department of Environmental Protection will develop a master plan for the construction of a new facility for our home games at Prudecrest Arena,” Devils owner and CEO Ray Shero said in a statement.
“The plans are being finalized and we are in the process of evaluating the feasibility of the project.
The goal is to build a facility that will accommodate a total of 40,000 fans for games played at Prudencecrest Stadium, and provide an exciting venue for the team and its fans.”
The team is planning to host games at the Prudentially Center from November 7-10th, and will then host home games against the Philadelphia Flyers on November 16th.
