New Jersey’s population falls to 527,000
The number of New Jersey residents who were living in poverty in 2014 hit 527 for the first time in the state’s history, according to a new study.
The new numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau show the state had the largest population loss since the 1940s.
The number fell to 513,849 people from 517,664 in 2014, according the report.
The census bureau says New Jersey is home to 5.4 million people.
