Phnom Penh: The Latest on the Crisis in South Korea

Cambodia’s military is taking action against the North’s military and civilians.

The country’s foreign minister said Tuesday the military is now targeting civilians in the country.

Foreign Minister Khieu Samphan made the comments in a statement released by his office.

South Korean officials said Tuesday that North Korea has launched several missile launches, and the military responded by attacking South Korean bases in the border city of Yeongjin, in response to the latest attacks.

A statement from the North said it was considering its options.

The U.S. Embassy in South Korean cities has also reported several incidents of North Korean ballistic missiles hitting South Korea.

On Monday, the North launched an unidentified ballistic missile into the sea off the coast of North Korea, which the U.N. Security Council has condemned.

It has threatened to strike the South with an intercontinental ballistic missile.

South Korea says it has been receiving about a dozen missiles a day from North Korea.
